Subsistence farming- the earliest form of agriculture that is meant to provide for the needs of family or small group. Manohar Lal, a farmer in remote area has a small piece of land. He grows 1000 saplings in his field in rows such that each succeeding row has 5 saplings less than the previous one and the first row has 100 saplings.

Use the above information to answer the questions that follow:

  1. How many saplings will be  there in 10th row?

   (ii) How many minimum rows are required to grow 1000 saplings?

                          OR

   If 1000 saplings are to be grown, how many saplings are required to be put after 10th row?​

 

   iii) If there are 25 rows in the field, how many saplings are there in middle row?

Two taps running together can fill a tank in  40/13 hours. If one tap takes 3 hours more than the other to fill the tank, then how much time will each tap take to fill the tank ?

The total cost of a certain length of a piece of cloth is ₹ 200. If the piece was 5 m longer and each metre of cloth costs ₹ 2 less, the cost of the piece would have remained unchanged. How long is the piece and what is its original rate per metre?
